Hi and Welcome to TheraChi Healing, LLC
My name is Jodi Silverman. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Reiki Master/Teacher. TheraChi Healing is a holistic integrative healing practice with the goal of holding safe space for your healing, learning and growth. As a fellow human and a consciousness guide, I am passionate about supporting people in their journey to find meaning, purpose and connection in life through learning to trust their own intuition. I do this through a variety of psycho-spiritual and transpersonal approaches including psychotherapy, energy healing and embodied mindfulness. I consider myself to be an integrative practitioner. Although I am trained in several evidence based treatments, I rely on intuition and the collaborative relationship between us to guide interventions and approaches.
Through my own transpersonal journey I have come to understand that the universe is self organizing and when we approach it with curiosity and humility we unlock possibilities and potential that have always been within us, yet hidden by the creative adjustments we have developed to keep us safe as we move through the world. When we do the courageous work of identifying these patterns and bringing the unconscious into awareness, we can then make intentional choices that align with our values and lead to intentional conscious fully embodied living.
This requires us to be willing to explore our ancestry and our lived experiences including how attachment styles, social location and white supremacy culture has shaped the way we see and move through the world. My practice is rooted in attachment theory and neuroscience with special attention given to the interpersonal relationship between practitioner and client as I believe that healing occurs in the context of safe relationships. I hold all of this to be true as a psychotherapist, supervisor, mentor and leader, and ultimately as a fellow human being.
I earned my Masters in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania in 1995 and since that time I have worked as a Social Worker, Behavioral Specialist and Therapist in several settings including group homes, clinics, community settings, schools, private practice and family homes. I have been providing clinical supervision, training and mentoring to individuals in the field of Social Work and Counseling for over 15 years and my leadership experience spans 20 years in community mental health during which I developed and lead teams in program development, service implementation and sustainability.
In 2013 I was introduced to Reiki on the beautiful island of Maui. I instantly fell in love with the simplicity of the technique and the healing effect that it has on both the recipient and the practitioner. I found that it allows me to be completely present with people while creating a safe and loving environment so that healing can occur. I completed my Reiki Master/Teacher training in July 2014 and Holy Fire Reiki Master training in October 2017 and June 2018. I have continued with supervision and training in Reiki over the years and have joined other mental health clinicians in spear heading a movement in Reiki Assisted Psychotherapy.
With a special interest in helping people who have experienced relational hurts as children and adults, I have received training in approaches to treating trauma including the Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model for treating partner's of sex addicts and Will I Ever Be Good Enough Model for treating adult daughters of narcissistic mothers. I am also level 2 certified in the use of Emotional Freedom Technique and have extensive training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
I am a cis white straight female with ancestry rooted in Judaism. I am a mom to two boys (college and teen) and currently live outside of Philadelphia with my husband, sons and sweet rescue Kelpie X, Halo.
