Welcome! My name is Erica Thomke, and I am a Licensed Social Worker and Psychotherapist specializing in sexual wellness. My passion lies in supporting helping professionals and new moms during times of transition. I create a safe space for individuals to access their vulnerability and live authentically. With a strong educational background in human sexuality, I assist clients in navigating the intimate aspects of themselves and their relationships.
Supporting New MomsBecoming a mother is a transformative experience that reshapes the very fabric of your life. It’s natural to feel disoriented, grieve your old identity, or even face feelings of anger and loss. These complex emotions can often feel chaotic, but they are a normal part of integrating the “mother” identity into your world.
For newly postpartum moms, I offer flexibility to accommodate your unique needs. While carving out space for yourself is an essential skill, I understand the realities of life with a baby and welcome them to join our sessions if needed.
Helping the HelpersThose in caregiving and helping professions often pour so much into others that they neglect their own needs. Over time, this self-sacrifice can lead to feelings of resentment, emotional exhaustion, and a lack of connection in personal relationships. Being an effective professional requires ongoing self-care and introspection. I’m here to support you in identifying and addressing the parts of yourself that may need attention and care.
Whether you’re navigating the transformative journey of motherhood or seeking to realign your personal and professional life as a helper, I’m here to walk alongside you. Let’s work together to help you reconnect with your authentic self.
As a relational therapist, I work with you to build on your natural self awareness and insight as we explore your patterns and reframe/rescript them. This requires an exploration of all aspects of the self, including social, emotional, physical and spiritual wellness. It is easy to neglect the more intimate aspects of our selves and our lives because, when shared with so few, they can seem insignificant. Yet carrying any dissatisfaction wears on overall wellbeing. Addressing just one facet of the self ripples out to positively enhance all aspects of life. Invest in your self today.
I earned my Master of Education in Human Sexuality and Master of Social Work from Widener University in 2017. I am a cis-gender white female who is married with 3 children. Outside of the therapy office, you will find me cooking, doing logic puzzles, reading fiction and community building.
