REIKI TRAINING FOR HELPING PROFESSIONALS
THE THIRD PRESENCE
COMING IN OCTOBER
You know how to listen, how to support people through pain, uncertainty, and change. But you may also sense that there are moments when insight, conversation, and technique can only take the work so far.
Perhaps you want to offer clients a more embodied experience of healing, maybe you're looking for a way to work with the whole person - mind, body, energy, emotion, and spirit, without sacrificing professional integrity. Or perhaps you are simply longing for a practice that helps you feel more grounded, intuitive, and resourced in the presence of the people you serve.
The Third Presence is a way to learn Reiki in a way that is grounded, experiential, and designed to strengthen the work you already do.
ENROLLMENT OPENS IN FALL. JOIN THE WAITLIST FOR EARLIEST ACCESS & BEST PRICING.

You Give So Much But Where Do You Refill?
You went into this work because you care. You know how to listen. You know how to sit with someone in pain without rushing to fix it. That takes a lot out of a person.
Somewhere along the way, you probably learned to talk about presence more than you learned how to practice it. You learned interventions. You learned frameworks. But nobody handed you a way to stay grounded when the room gets heavy, or a way to fill yourself back up after you've given so much away.

What if you don't need to hold it all?
Maybe you've noticed it creeping in. A little more tired than usual. A little slower to bounce back. You still show up. You still care deeply. But something has gotten quieter inside you, and you're not totally sure when that happened.
The tools you learned in school were built to help other people. They were never really built to help you.
INTRODUCING
THE THIRD PRESENCE
Join me and my colleague, Liz Hides, this fall.
Healing does not occur through the practitioner alone, nor through the recipient alone. Something emerges in the space between them, which is a relational field shaped by presence, attention, trust, and the willingness to meet what is here.
We call this The Third Presence.
The Third Presence is not something you manufacture or control. It is what becomes possible when you are grounded enough to listen, open enough to receive, and clear enough not to impose.
This training will help you cultivate that quality of presence while learning the traditional foundations and practices of Reiki.
Helping professionals are taught how to assess, understand, guide, and intervene.
We are not always taught how to:
Work with experiences that are difficult to access through words alone
Reiki offers a practical framework for developing these capacities.
It gives helping professionals a way to cultivate presence, deepen embodied awareness, and engage healing from a place that is receptive rather than effortful.
Reiki is more than a technique and not just hand positions...
Many people are introduced to Reiki as a hands-on energy-healing method. While hands-on practice is an important part of the system, Reiki is much more than a collection of hand positions.
Reiki is a full practice. It is a system that includes meditation, self-practice, a few simple guiding principles, and something called reiju, which is a kind of blessing passed from teacher to student.
Together, these pieces help you become steadier, clearer, and more compassionate with yourself and everyone you work with.
That steadiness shows up in your work, whether you ever use Reiki with a client or not. The way you walk into a room changes the room.
Reiki supports the practitioner behind the intervention.

THE THIRD PRESENCE
A TWO LEVEL PATH
The Third Presence Reiki training is offered as a progressive learning experience rather than a compressed weekend course. You will learn, practice, reflect, return with questions, and gradually deepen your relationship with Reiki.
Establish a personal Reiki practice and begin bringing greater grounding, awareness, and presence into your work.
Reiki Level I introduces you to the foundations of the Usui system of Reiki.
You will learn the history and principles of the system, begin practicing Reiki for yourself and others, receive reiju, and explore how Reiki can support you personally and professionally.
Rather than receiving all of the material in one intensive weekend and then being left to practice alone, you will be supported through a 21-day integration period.
Expand your Reiki practice and develop greater confidence using Reiki within helping relationships.
Reiki Level II is offered following the completion of the Level I training and 21-day integration period.
This level deepens your experience of Reiki and introduces additional practices that support focused intention, emotional and mental healing, and connection beyond immediate physical presence.
Reiki II will also explore how helping professionals can remain grounded, ethically aware, and relationally attuned when bringing Reiki-informed principles into their work.
Reiki Level I Includes
During this experiential training, you will be introduced to:
the history and foundations of the Usui system of Reiki
Reiki as a spiritual and personal practice
the Reiki precepts
meditation and embodied awareness practices
self-treatment
offering Reiki to another person
energetic sensitivity and discernment
practitioner boundaries
reiju and the importance of lineage
applications for helping professionals
Self-paced videos, readings, reflections, and guided practices will allow you to absorb the teachings gradually and revisit them throughout the training.
Following the live training, you will be guided through 21 days of personal practice and reflection.
This period allows you to move beyond simply understanding Reiki intellectually and begin developing a lived relationship with the practice.
You will reconnect with the group twice during the 21-day journey to:
ask questions
discuss what you are noticing
receive guidance
clarify the practice
explore how Reiki may be influencing your work and daily life
remain connected and accountable as your practice develops
By the End of Reiki Level I, You Will Be Able To:
Practice Reiki for yourself
Offer a foundational Reiki session to another person
Use Reiki practices to ground and prepare yourself before professional encounters
Recognize the difference between intuitive awareness and interpretation
Remain more connected to your own body and internal experience
Understand the foundational ethics and boundaries of Reiki practice
Begin exploring how Reiki may complement your existing professional role
THE 21-DAY INTEGRATION EXPERIENCE
Reiki is not mastered by collecting information. It becomes meaningful through practice.
The 21-day journey gives you time to work with Reiki in your own life before moving into more advanced teachings. You will be encouraged to practice consistently, observe without forcing an outcome, and become familiar with how Reiki feels and functions through your own direct experience.
This is one of the ways The Third Presence differs from accelerated Reiki trainings.
We are not simply preparing you to complete the next level. We are helping you build a practice you can trust.
Reiki Level II Includes
These interactive sessions provide space for teaching, practice, discussion, and integration.
Additional videos, readings, and guided practices will support continued learning between live sessions.
deepening your understanding of the Reiki precepts
traditional Reiki symbols and practices
Reiki for emotional and mental well-being
distance Reiki
strengthening intuitive and energetic discernment
developing trust without making assumptions
working with intention without attempting to control outcomes
maintaining appropriate energetic and relational boundaries
applying Reiki-informed presence within helping relationships
understanding the distinction between practicing Reiki and integrating Reiki within a licensed clinical role
By the End of Reiki Level II, You Will Be Able To:
Practice Reiki with greater confidence and intentionality
Use traditional Level II practices and symbols
Offer Reiki in person and from a distance
Work with emotional and mental dimensions of healing
Recognize your own tendencies toward striving, rescuing, or over-responsibility
Bring greater steadiness and embodied presence into your professional work
Understand the next steps for integrating Reiki into a helping or clinical practice
Depending on your professional role and scope of practice, Reiki may support your work by helping you:
Notice internal reactions without immediately acting on them
Remain present during emotionally intense encounters
This training does not teach Reiki as a replacement for psychotherapy, healthcare, or other professional services.
It teaches Reiki as a distinct practice that may support both the practitioner and the people they serve when used responsibly and within appropriate professional boundaries.
A GROUNDED APPROACH TO SPIRITUAL PRACTICE
The Third Presence honors Reiki as a spiritual practice without asking students to adopt a particular belief system.
You will not be taught to assign spiritual meaning to another person’s experience, make claims about what their energy means, or bypass the realities of trauma, oppression, grief, illness, or human suffering.
Instead, you will learn to approach Reiki with:
humility
curiosity
consent
discernment
respect for scope of practice
trust in the recipient’s own experience
awareness of the difference between intuition and projection
Spirituality can deepen helping work.
It must never be used to override another person’s reality.

THIS TRAINING MAY BE RIGHT FOR YOU IF:
You are curious about Reiki but have not found a training that feels professionally grounded.
You want to bring more body-based, energetic, or spiritual awareness into your work.
You often sense more than is being spoken but want to develop discernment and appropriate boundaries around what you notice.
You care deeply about the people you serve and sometimes leave your work feeling depleted or overly responsible.
You want a personal practice that supports your own nervous system and well-being.
You are drawn to Reiki but uncomfortable with teachings that feel overly simplistic, ungrounded, or disconnected from trauma awareness.
You want to learn within a community of other helping professionals.
You are looking for more than a weekend certification, you want time to practice, integrate, and ask meaningful questions.
You may initially come to The Third Presence because you want a new way to support your clients, patients, or students.
You may leave with something deeper.
A stronger relationship with your own intuition.
A greater capacity to stay present without fixing.
A clearer sense of where you end and another person begins.
A spiritual practice that nourishes rather than depletes you.
And a new understanding that healing is not always created through effort. Sometimes it begins with the quality of presence we bring.
FACILITATORS
The Third Presence is taught by Jodi K. Silverman, LCSW, Reiki Master/Teacher, and Liz Hides, Reiki Master/Teacher.
Together, Jodi and Liz bring extensive experience in Reiki, professional helping relationships, trauma-sensitive practice, embodied healing, and the ethical integration of spiritual principles into work with others.
Their teaching approach is relational, experiential, practical, and grounded in the belief that Reiki is not simply something we perform.
It is something we learn to live.

I'm a psychotherapist and Reiki Master Teacher with over 30 years of clinical experience. My work is all about helping people find safety in their own nervous system, and Reiki has been a huge part of my own healing and my clinical practice for over a decade.

Liz is a Reiki Master Teacher, mindfulness teacher, and grief specialist with over 25 years of experience supporting people through loss and transition. She brings a steady, heart centered presence to everything she teaches.

No. Reiki Levels I and II are open to therapists, coaches, healthcare providers, bodyworkers, educators, healers, and other helping professionals.
A later Clinical Integration training will be available specifically for licensed mental health professionals who want to integrate Reiki into psychotherapy.
No. Reiki Level I begins with the foundations.
No. Reiki is a practice, not a performance. People experience Reiki in many different ways. You will be encouraged to notice your own experience without comparing it to anyone else’s.
No. Reiki has spiritual roots, but you don't have to follow any particular religion or belief system to learn it.
That depends on your role, your scope of practice, and any licensing rules you follow. We'll talk through consent and boundaries during the training, and licensed mental health professionals who want to go further can continue into a future clinical training built specifically for that.
Reiki is learned through experience and repetition. The 21-day structure allows you to develop a consistent personal practice, integrate what you have learned, and receive ongoing support rather than being left alone after the initial training.
No. Level I is a complete training on its own. Level II is there if and when you want to go deeper.
